Wake Up, Sleepyhead!

"Aging is a fact of life. Looking your age is not." - Dr. Howard Murad

Raise your hand if you struggle with baggage! Well, I mean eye bags, but we all have baggage too...that's another story... I'll be the first one to say the gravitational force is strong on my face. Since childhood, I've had severe undereye bags and probably will deal with them for the rest of my life as that's what genetics, lethargy, and allergies will do to you. But there are a few products that do their best to lift and tighten some of that inflammation, and I wanted to share two of them with you all!

Left to right: Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm Eye, Dr. Brandt No More Baggage

Ulta is a "cave of wonders" in the makeup world, and after some online research, I picked up these two eye care products, the Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm Eye and the Dr. Brandt No More Baggage.

Dr. Brandt No More Baggage is a solid $42 for 0.5oz and claims that it's "a breakthrough under-eye solution that dramatically reduces the appearance of bags, puffiness, and dark circles for a more youthful and rested look". And we all breathe a communal sigh of hope...if only, right? Well, Dr. Brandt is quite the genius because this stuff kinda works! It does tighten (you can actually feel the skin stretching into itself, but it doesn't offer long-term results or completely banish though bags - it simply diminishes some of the puffiness.

PTR Instant Firm Eye also boasts similar results, but it doesn't deliver quite as well. On Sephora's website, they warn that the product leaves a "white residue" which can be gently removed with a damp cloth, q-tip, or fingertips. For me, this did indeed leave some powdery residue behind, and I feel that if you're spending $38 on an eye product supplement, not including your daily eye cream or serum, you had best get what you're paying for.

If you're searching for the cheapest eye de-puffers, there's a dollar-tree gel ball mask that you pop in the freezer and wrap around your face each morning, the refrigerated spoon technique, the chilled cucumber slices, or placing cold-brewed green tea bags on your eyes. Tested any other home remedies for eye bags that work for you?
