
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 48-hour notice.
Any initial cancellation or reschedule (barring impending inclement weather) made within less than a 48-hour timeframe will result in a cancellation fee (the loss of the booking retainer).
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your service, we will subtract that time from your appointment block & add a $10 fee.
We require a credit card on file and a booking fee to hold your appointment. Any additional cancellation fees will be charged to your card on file.
In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be applied to future services.
However, if an appointment is cancelled outside of serious impending inclement weather (and all other indoor photography accommodations are deemed impossible) or severe illness, the initial booking fee is retained. If the appointment is rescheduled but cancelled a second time, 50% of the full session fee is required via the credit card on file.
If the stylist experiences a true, unavoidable emergency and cannot service you for the appointment, the full booking fee will be promptly returned and all attempts made to refer you to another trusted local stylist.
What is required to formally book your services for my wedding date?
We need a signed contract and a deposit. Then, we’ll send you an email to confirm your booking!
How much is the deposit?
It is $500 and is deducted from the total day-of payment.
When should I schedule my bridal hair & makeup trial?
You should schedule the trial 2-3 months prior to your wedding date but begin looking at suitable dates for you and the stylist at the time of booking. We typically schedule single appointments several weeks in advance. Weekend appointments are off-limits due to weddings, but we can work with most weekdays and occasionally a Sunday afternoon, and be sure to plan for 1.5-2hrs-worth of time to be with us!
When do you require final numbers of services expected?
We require final numbers of people wanting hair & makeup services at least 3 months in advance of the wedding date as that is the very latest we can book additional assistants. Numbers given on the invoice at the time of contract signing are final unless additions (not subtractions) are made before the 3-month deadline and additional stylists/flexible timing is available. We highly stress gathering final numbers at the timing of booking to secure staffing as anything past that point is not guaranteed.
What do I bring to a bridal trial or generic appointment?
For brides, you will want to bring along any hair extensions, veils, hair accessories/combs, fiber fillers, etc. you plan to utilize in your day-of look! We encourage brides to wear a white or cream top to simulate a wedding dress shade. For generic hair & makeup appointments, you will want to wear a low- to no-collar button-up or wide-neck shirt you can easily pull over your head if you need to change clothes for your event. You may also bring along 1 guest (mother, friend, sister, etc) to watch as well if they would like to be a part of the process.
What if I want to wait to book with you until after I have my bridal trial?
The choice is absolutely yours, but we do not hold your date open. If someone were to request the same wedding date and submit the necessary documentation before you had the chance to complete your trial, we would take the first booking bride. It’s very risky to wait to book, but it is ultimately up to you and your comfort level. Do you offer just eye makeup or just foundation (half-face) application options?
We do, though we don’t recommend that route. A half-face doesn’t fully reflect a professional’s work. If someone has professional airbrushing done but uses poor, drugstore brand eye makeup and applies it herself, then the face isn’t truly complete. Same goes vice versa!
Do you offer group rates or military discounts?
No, we do not.
Is there different pricing for varying lengths of hair?
No, unless someone has hair down to the waist or it is unusually thick, curly, or heavy, and they want it completely curled and down - the added fee is $20.
What does the makeup service include?
We will apply certain primers on both the eyes and face to best suit your own specific skin type, eyeshadow, brow products, liner, mascara, concealer, foundation, powder, blush, bronzer/contour, highlighter, lipliner/lip stain, lipstick, lipgloss, and setting spray. Depending on the skin issues and/or needs, we may apply a moisturizer, oil, mattifyer, lip exfoliant, or cooling spray to the skin prior to makeup application.
Do you sanitize brushes in-between each client?
We are firm believers in excellent sanitation standards and maintain pristine conditions in our kits. We use new and/or cleaned brushes in-between clients and sanitize on-site, only apply liquid product directly to our hands and never straight from the container, and use disposable wands to apply mascara.
What do my bridesmaids need to have ready for you on the day-of?
They should be on-time or preferably early to the start time set by the bride/wedding planner and our team. Please arrive with dry, product-free hair (day-old hair is best) and a bare, moisturized face (clear of any leftover makeup from the night before). We’d also love to see photos of what they’d like to have done for their beauty service, so having screenshots or a Pinterest board of styles is ideal.
Do you do blowouts for wet hair?
No, we do not unless previously scheduled with us beforehand, and a fee is added for unexpected wet hair.
Can I schedule my bridal trial the same day my bridal portrait/engagement session/dress fitting?
Of course! We think that’s a great idea, and we’ll try to work with you on timing if it suits our schedules too.
How far do you travel for weddings?
We work within a 2-hour radius of Richmond and arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start-time to set up.
What is your travel fee?
The fee is $0.75/mile from the artist’s residence.
How many assistants will you bring?
That depends on the amount of services performed for both hair and makeup. We average 7-8 services per stylist/assistant and the availability of the assistants from the date you book. We’ll take care of all the details for you!
Do you have any additional fees (assistants, travel, booking, etc)?
There are no hidden fees, and all add-ons are explained here and at the bottom of our pricing guides. There is an early-morning fee of $95/hour for any start-time requiring the artist to travel prior to 7am. Any travel time prior to 6am requires an overnight stay. The only other fee is if you explicitly ask for an additional stylist to be added to shorten your prep time outside of what we’ve already booked you for, and that is $85/stylist. All additional stylists chosen to cover the party's services within a reasonable service period (4-5hrs) are free on us! A holiday fee, too, of 15% will be added to weddings held on federal holidays.
What types of products do you use?
We use a wide range of products, ones that have been heavily researched and tested prior to purchase known for their durability, health benefits, and prestige nature. For makeup, we use professional brands such as Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Smashbox, Urban Decay, MAC, Jouer, Temptu, Tarte, MakeUp Forever, Fresh, Elizabeth Arden, CoverFX, etc. to name a few. For hair, we primarily use Kenra styling products along with a smattering of other products from BigSexy Hair, Design.Me, Aquage, Oribe, and Rusk. We're always adding to and revamping our collection to keep up with new lines and provide our clients with only the best of the best!
