Gen Nude Lippies

"Pretty is what you are. Beauty is what you do with it." - bareMinerals

Fun fact: I used to work at a Bare Minerals boutique, then called Bare Escentuals, in the Spotsylvania mall nearly 6 years ago, but they hadn't developed these two products yet. If they had, trust me, I'd have been the top saleswoman! I'm really a fan of both the heavily pigmented gloss AND matte lip liquid and want to share more about them so that you too can discover their value.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick in Juju & Smooch & Patent Lip Lacquer in Dahling

Their gloss is called the Patent Lip Lacquer, and I got the color "Dahling" as a sample in a purchase. The gloss is rich and moisturizing but perhaps its best feature (aside from its color payoff) is that it's buttery without being thick & gloopy. The color itself is a natural reddish-brown tone which, I know, sounds strange, but it's a fabulous color for when someone requests a "neutral" look but still needs to show up on-screen. It is $19 but I can imagine it'd last . you for a long while since a little goes a long way.

Now I know I've raved about Jouer's matte liquid lipsticks, but this one is making me doubt my choice, coming in at a close second as the best liquid lipstick I've tested. This tube is also $19, and though it doesn't dry down completely (which I actually prefer anyways), the formula isn't drying to the skin UNLESS you already struggle with dry lips like I do seasonally. It's a velvety cream liquid and there are 14 shades to choose from in the GenNude collection with 10 additional shades in the Statement collection. Like its sidekick the gloss, the color payoff is gorgeous! I have "Smooch" which is a blue-based baby pink and "Juju" which is a deeper neutral lip bordering on a berry-toned shade.

These lasted about 4hrs on me without eating but with drinking, so though they don't have permanent qualities, I'm gladly trading it for comfortable wear. Do you have one of these lippies? If so, what are your thoughts?
