MILK Minis

"We see personal style and experimentation as the ultimate forms of self-expression. It’s not just about how you create your look; it’s what you do in it that matters." - MILK Makeup

MILK has been a favorite brand of mine for nearly three years now, and when I saw this holiday minis set on a trip to Sephora, I had to have it! With 6 miniature products including a primer, serum, multi-use lip/cheek stick, highlighter, bronzer, and light eye hydrator, it was a steal and a great way for someone new to the brand to test out a selection of their finest products. It's also a necessity for someone like me who does personal makeup on-the-go and who enjoys a fresh, barely-there look!

I'd like to share my thoughts on this nifty bundle with you:

Although I haven't personally seen life-altering results, MILK's Cooling Water stick is so luxurious yet unpretentious, offering an immediate feel-good moment to tired, burning, or puffy eyes. During allergy season especially, it's so refreshing to roll this around the eye socket lightly on top of makeup (it's not gooey or sticky) or on bare skin.

The Watermelon Brightening Serum is very similar! It's not creamy nor a liquid so it rolls on matte but leaves behind a satisfying, airy hydration (sounds like an oxymoron, right?) on the skin. According to the MILK website, it is chock full of delightful ingredients like watermelon fruit extract which hydrates, Swiss garden cress sprout extract that brightens and evens the look of the skin tone, and Matrixyl, a peptide, which supports skin’s natural elasticity. For those of you who don't like to use your hands to apply facial products, the serum rolls on the face nicely, directly from the cylinder.

I am a big fan of the Hydro Grip primer which I currently use in my professional kit. Along with blue agave extract, the hemp-derived cannabis seed ingredient hydrates, plumps, and soothes the skin. The primer's gel-like texture cools and calms irritated skin, and I find is especially useful for very oily, acne-prone, or generally irritated skin. True to its title, it grips onto both the skin and makeup very well, causing beauty products to stay put once applied.

The highlighter and matte bronzer sticks aren't much to gawk over, but they can repurposed to use on the eyes for a subtle contour and glow. The specks of glitter in the highlighter are a bit too large for my liking, but again, on the eyes, it's lovely. The bronzer, too, is a little warm and dark for my skin-tone, but on a more tanned, light-medium shade skin, it would be the perfect, creamy quick-application contour.

Lastly, we have the Glimmer Glow Oil multistick which offers an ethereal, whimsical shimmer for either/both cheeks and lips. It is a berry-red with a myriad of sparkles that sometime shine gold, other times ruby, depending on the angle. I prefer it on more on my lips than my cheeks as I like my cheeks to stay fairly matte, but it's a very fanciful shade that compliments many skin tones!

And there you have it! What's your favorite MILK product and why? Which one of these products listed above do you currently own or would you like to try?
