"We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine." - Dwight L. Moody
This is going to be a very brief, drive-by blog post today, but I wanted to share about my second favorite highlighter (my first is always Jouer) and the same brand's hydrating setting powder. Becca has been a mainstay in my kit since the beginning, and I've reviewed several of their products before (here & here).
While at the IMATS, I picked up the newest highlighter addition in shade "Champagne Pop". It's true to its name, a shimmering soft warm gold glow. It's oh so creamy though a pressed powder formula and applies with such an even sheen. At $38, it's not cheap, but because it's so finely milled and compact, it'll last you a while!
For the same price, I tried a .35oz Becca setting powder with a hydrating boost, aptly called "Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder" which is a loose powder. To be honest, this wasn't my favorite. Though it IS cooling (what is that magic?!) when first applied, it doesn't set makeup well at all and quickly absorbs into the skin, not doing much mattifying at all. Plus for a lot of money, you're only getting a little bit of product. For $3 less, you can purchase a top-knotch performer (CoverFX setting powder) with the same amount of product. For an extremely dry or mature-aged person, this powder may be a Godsend, but if you have any hint of oil on your skin, it's not going to be effective in drying up that secretion.
Any personal experiences with these two products? Love or just like?
